When this happens, the best way is to ask for aid local vision. But as cheap rimless glasses are not sold there, optics has the right not help. Therefore, you must learn to adjust your glasses for yourself.

If you've purchased off of metal glasses, then you're lucky.Metal frames are more flexible and not so easy to break. Basically, you can set in four parts, which are the bridge of nose pads, arms, temple and ear hooks in the temples. On the bridge of his nose and arms of the temple, you can use force in hand to bend or twist the pieces gently and carefully, without tools, and stop when you feel comfortable after having set his face. For the tablets of the nose, some of them can be adjusted manually, while others can be done with pliers. Remember to wrap the ends of the clamps with rubber and layers of fabric, so it does not harm the metal surface.Note pads are attached to wheels with a very thin wire is very easy to break. The ear hooks are usually wrapped with plastic lid, if you need to heat the front to adjust the angle. Some recommend using the oven as a source of heat, maintaining a distance from visible light (not too far and not close). But note that does not overheat and need to test the flexibility of the hook of the form where you go. This part must be made with caution.

what is the benefit of wearing eyeglasses with nose pads?

Looking to buy a new pair of glasses. I do not know if I should get glasses with traditional pads or a modern plastic frame.

Pads do more adjustments. If the deck of a plastic frame is too wide for your nose, the glasses will never stay in place as they should, they will always drag down. Pads can be adjusted to fit the nose so they sit where they should not slip. If a plastic frame is the right size though, then they should not drag, but they extend in time and will be adjusted every few months.

There are so many different frameworks out there right now you can find stylish frames with nosepads. Many brands have metal frames with pads that have bright colors or thick metal, so they Dont Look so traditional.

Go to some stores and look at the choice of the frame and have an optician to help you choose some plastics and some metal frames and you can decide whether it is more comfortable for you.

A way to clean yellowed nose pads on old eyeglasses?

Is there a way to clead nose pads, two or three years old eyeglasses that have yellowed?

Jorst ... You local Wal-Mart or any office of optometry decent change these for you for about $ 2 or $ 3. If you smile and ask real, if the seller thinks you are really cute, you can even replace them for anything. Believe me ... I sure as heck is not cute ... has never been ... but my Wal-Mart has offered to change me for free twice. I guess I looked like a big spender, or something. Just kidding.

I returned to my eye doctor to see if they could straighten my frames and guess what. They were replaced free eye pads.

I completely destroyed the nose pads on my eyeglasses?

For instance, I completely removed what holds the nosepads. The metal that the nose pad is attached to, I accidently broke it off when trying to adjust my eyeglasses. Is it possible for them to add another piece? I mean its completely gone. It's almost as if I bought my glasses with just a barrier.

you can take them to an optician, if they can fix them for you they will, they might be able to provide a temporary fix to you can order a new frame, so they are atleast functioning.

for future reference, they should also provide adjustments for free. i would take them there next time. then if they break it, thats their fault, not yours.

I need the nose pads on my eyeglasses adjusted?

Its too tight. Is this possible? If so, how long would it take and how much would it cost?

Oh, that's no problem.

Just take them into your local eye doctor, and they'll be able to set them to your standards!

It will only take a few minutes as they adjust them, and they don't charge a thing!

I've had my fair share of bent nose pieces. :P

What is that green stuff on the inside of the nose pads on my eyeglasses and how do I clean it out?

copper oxidation, use a q tip.

it is mold get new glasses

Can I fix an eyeglass frame with a broke off nose pad?

The nose pad on one side broke off but there is a screw that attached it. I want to know where I can buy a new pad so I can fix it myself.
Thanks for any help.

this has happened to me many times. most places will fix it free for you. i guess they hope to get you as a customer some day. my present glasses have a screw for the nose pads. i bought them at costco.. they will fix them for you if there is one close to you. you don't need to be a member, just tell them you are going to the eyeglass repair. i only ever had 1 place charge me for this repair, and it was one buck.

Most stores have a fix it kit for glasses. You should find it in the health/beauty/medicine section. It usually includes mini screwdrivers, screws, nose pads, small magnifying glass and a wipe cloth. Not expensive at all.

What are "Nose Pads" (for eyeglasses) called in French?

I need to know it cause I want to place an ad to sell my sunglasses but the nose pads need to be changed and I want to put that in the details.

nez plaquettes.... I think that's what I remember from my high school french class.

What causes the nose pad in eyeglasses to turn green?

What causes the nose pad in eyeglasses to turn green?

Air and moisture causes the metal to oxidize, I agree. We jokingly call it, "gangrene". You can get the nosepads replaced at most eye glass places. If you take it back to where you bought it, they might relace them for free, while you wait. I think most places charge around ten dollars, and looks a lot nicer, too.

If they are metal glasses, oxidation.

Is it possible to insert a nose pad on any eyeglasses?

My current glasses have no nose pads. It uses a barrier instead. However, the barrier is too uncomfortable. I was wondering if its possible to return my eyeglasses for them to put a nose pad on it?

no it is not. im assuming you plastic frames if you do then you would have to switch to metal frames that have nosepads

You can go to a drug store and buy little pads with glue on the back.

how much does it cost to replace nose pads?

i know that at some eyeglass shops, that they replace it for free. but my bro just snapped off my nosepad and i wanna get it fixed without telling my mom...
also, can u go to an eye glass store that you've never been to before and get them fixed?

you might go to a local eyeglass store. tell them you are shopping for a new frame. try a few on. say you will bring your mother back to make a purchase and then ask them how much they will charge you to fix your pads. a reputable place will do it for no charge.

How can I get rid of the nose pad of these eyeglasses?

I've been having these percscription glasses and I haven't wore them much until now and I really hate the nose pad. They're exactly like this - http://eyeglasses.go-optic.com/DFRAMES/i mages/VAL5430.jpg

The problem is that they're clear and they're attached to the whole franme. How can I get rid of it?

I don't think that you can get rid of them... I almost have the same glasses... I think that if they bother you that much than you should get a different pair of glasses.

Eyeglasses made dried/marks/abrasions on my face where nose pads are.?

What could someone do to prevent dryness/marks/abrasions on my face, I believed my previous eyeglasses was/is the cause of these marks where the nose pads go on my face. My dermatologist suggested I get them looser.

My current glasses are designer glasses (no nose-pads, just a thick like frame) but it's been a while and I can still see the dried/marks/abrasions where the nose pads were, it looks like a big dark spot, how can I get this to go away? Also my current glasses cause an imprint on my face as well, what do you suggest I do (if get them to be looser, please tell how should they feel or how they should look, or something so I know I'm doing right)?

maybe get some cream and rub it on.

the right nose pad of my Guess brand eyeglasses came off?

Can i glue it back or something?
the metal part and bolt is still attached... just the plastic nose pad came off.

Go to the nearest optical shop. They usually have extra spare parts and can fix it really cheap. I do this every day.,

Does anyone know what type of nose piece on these glasses are?

http://eyeglasses.go-optic.com/enlarge.a sp?id=12400&cat=DFRAMES

If you look at the nose bud piece, you can see that there are no screws holding it in place.. can anyone tell me what type of nose pad holders these are?

i'm pretty sure those are just called 'snap in', but i suggest going to the site i found the info from

is it possible to get refund on a pair of brand new eyeglasses?

I bought a pair of eyeglasses on Dec 24 and I've come to despise it. I especially despise the nose pads. Can I possibly return it now and get new frames in return or my money back atleast?

You might be able to get them adjusted, but a refund on prescription glasses might be difficult.

i think you could.

am I just extremely sensitive at this spot?

When something is touching the sides of my nose, I lost most, if not all, capabilities to critically think. It is as if the item resting against my nose pre occupy my mind. Does anyone have an explanation for this? It limits the availabilities of eyeglasses for me because most of them either use nose pads or rest on the sides of your nose?

You are not the only one with this problem. I too am extremely sensitive in this area. My solution was Lasik eye surgery. I no longer have to wear glasses for my vision although sunglasses are still necessary, and yes they still bug the heck outta me!

which type of eyeglasses allow the most oxygen flow to the eye?

I am currently wearing a plastic lens frames with no nose pads. I barely feel any breeze on my eye. I need something that will allow more oxygen. Any help pls?

Glasses don't stop oxygen from getting to your eyes, no matter what frame you have.

Help please - How good do those "scar erasing" products work?

I have switched to the kind of eyeglasses with plastic frames that don't have the little seperate oval pad that sits on your nose. My problem is I have one very stuborn red dent still on one side of my nose from wearing the old ones that just won't go away. It's been weeks! I wonder if one of those scar reduction products would work on it. What kind did you use and did you get good results from it?

I have tried them and I don't think they work particularly well and I don't think what you have so much is a scar since the skin was not broken, so they are unlikely to help at all. Even if your new glasses fit better, they are still placing some pressure on that spot and it will take awhile for it to heal.

I take it contacts won't work for you? Getting pressure off that spot would be best of all.

Thick rim eyeglasses?

i want a pair of thick rim eyeglasses, they are trendy now, but the bridge of my nose is very low and I need nose pads for glasses. So any trendy style with eye pad.

Only answer if you know about eyeglasses frame.

Thanks!
I meant nose pads, not eye pad, typo.
Picture will be helpful.

Thanks!

Try the AF Coach Gloria or the Coach AF Anita. They are both "Alternative Fit" for flatter or Asian type noses and are plastic and available in many colors. Coach frames are usualloy not found in the mall though, but at private docotr's offices. I do not have a picture, but they are cute and I think you would be surprised. maybe you can do a search online and see if you can find a picture.

My new eyeglasses hurt.Help?

My mom drove us to Vision City on Labor Day to see if my new eyeglasses were there yet,and the lady at the counter said to try them on for her to see if they fit. They felt fine, but when we got home and tryed them on,they hurt my right ear and my nose where the nose pads rest.Is this normal for new glasses or does it mean they are too small for me?
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much. You are a LIFESAVER.

They probably need to be adjusted for a better fit, go back to Vision City, they will make the necessary adjustments free of charge.
