ITunes Plus: Is the Upgrade Worth It? | jellofart's blog
ITunes Plus is the value the upgrade?
Apple launches iTunes Plus, a year ago, offering higher quality DRM-free through the iTunes music store. For those of you who are not familiar with iTunes Plus, you're probably wondering what this means and perhaps even wonder how it will affect your iTunes music library. Well, the basics are quite simple and it probably will not make much difference to the music you've purchased on iTunes. This, of course, unless you plan to upgrade. Let's look at what iTunes Plus is and what it would mean updating your music collection.
Firstly, with all iTunes Plus tracks are DRM-free and have a 256 kbps AAC encoding for audio quality. In fact, Apple claims that this new format makes the album "virtually indistinguishable from the original recordings." DRM stands for "digital rights management, whether the new tracks have more restrictions when it comes to converting files into different formats for use on non-Apple devices, and there is also no limit on the number of computers you can play your purchased songs. This provides a greater degree of flexibility when it comes to how you use music you bought.
Some people may not be aware of these new changes, but everyone who served with the acquisition of 99 percent has slopes certainly noticed that since April 2009, all their favorite songs have a brand new price: 1.29 $. That might not seem like much, but paying a premium of 30% for the DRM-free tracks and audio quality can certainly increase rapidly if you're the kind of person who buys several albums at once.
So here's the big question: do you put all the existing tracks that you've collected in your iTunes library over the years? It is fairly easy to do with an option "click", but before you click, you may want to consider these advantages and disadvantages:
Price
It will cost 30 cents to upgrade each track, or $ 3 per album. If you have, say, 200 albums in iTunes that could cost you a heavy $ 600!...
New Nose, New Face - The Popularity of Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic ...
Reconstructive surgery of the nose, commonly known as rhinoplasty, has existed in theory and practice in some form for centuries. However, modern procedures of rhinoplasty, which began more than a hundred years and more closely developed by innovation, are practical and affordable. In some cases, these procedures are necessary, but elective rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons has gained in popularity as the complications and reduce costs. A number of factors May rightly be attributed to the current popularity of rhinoplasty.

The results of a nose job
The effectiveness of surgery in reducing the size, redesign and improve the appearance of the nose is immediately noticeable. Those who are dissatisfied with the size and shape of their noses are likely to have a rhinoplasty procedure because of the time tested results.
Because it is the most important feature on the face, a nose that is too large or shaped differently from the norm can affect how you feel about your appearance. As seen on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County to be unhappy with your nose can make you extremely self-conscious.Female Housewife Lynne Curtin Raquel underwent rhinoplasty to correct a bump on her nose. The nose seems to affect the face on a much larger scale, since the perception of balance and symmetry of the anchor in front of the nose as a central point of discussion.
Therefore, for some, the importance of rhinoplasty can not be overstated reshaped nose may lead to greater confidence, as individuals self-worth is inextricably linked, if only in a small way, to the appearance physics. The popularity of the procedure is the result of the need for many individuals feel confident.
Cost of rhinoplasty
The relatively low cost of rhinoplasty is another major contributor to the popularity of the procedure....
Leaving Neverland: the costs of climate change « Zoopolis
You may not have heard of the Pembina Institute and David Suzuki Foundation’s release of a report analyzing the economic implications of two greenhouse gas reduction targets in Canada , but if you have, I can nearly guarantee that all you’ve heard is “ dealing with climate change is the end of the economy in Western Canada and too divisive to even contemplate ” or “ what are you talking about, it’s not that bad .” Which is a shame, because the real problem with the report isn’t about the cost of dealing with climate change or the geographic disparities and implications of that cost or the job gains to be had with transitioning to a clean energy economy.
The real problem is that the entire report is mythical.
Imagine this: you are the owner of a home with a leaky roof. You have hired someone to tell you how much it will cost to fix that leaky roof, and have received an estimate of the cost. When you consider whether or not you can afford to fix the roof, do you compare it to the imaginary cost of living in a house that does not require any roof repairs for the next twenty years? Or do you compare it to the cost of not fixing the roof and experiencing constant flooding and water damage for twenty years?
You own a car with an engine that is on the brink of disintegration. Do you compare the cost of fixing the engine or replacing the car with the cost of having an imaginary car that requires no repairs for twenty years, or do you compare it to the cost of not having a car to get around in?
For some unaccountable reason (and I’ve read the report, and they don’t explain it), the consultants chose to compare the cost of dealing with climate change over the next twenty years to an imaginary future in which climate change itself imposes no costs of its own, as if we have the option of living in a Canada for the next twenty years which can simply opt out of precipitation changes, shifts in tropical disease patterns, heat waves, the enormous die-backs in Western forests and possibly the boreal, the loss of permafrost, the likely extinction of thirty per cent of terrestrial species, the acidification of oceans, and so on.
