What exactly is reduced) (or Labiaplasty? Labia reduction is a procedure in plastic surgery of the labia majora and labia minora, both external folds of skin surrounding the vulva. Labia reduction involves the reduction of an elongated lip and is characterized usually part of a vaginoplasty.

In addition to reducing the size of the lips, a reduction can also be done to repair lips after the accident, maternity or sick. A hoodectomy can also be done at once. Thisto increase the clitoris, the purpose of sexual stimulation.

In the past, surgeons have performed along the lip reduction right on the projection of amputation and suturing the edges. This method had its problems, and surgeons now use lasers with a refined technique.

Labia reduction is performed while the patient is under local anesthesia and is an outpatient procedure. After surgery, the patient may experience swelling and mild discomfort, but how theseeither usually after one or two weeks. The recovery time from a reduction in general, varies from three days to a couple of weeks.

As with any surgery, there are risks associated with downsizing.After five to seven cases in 100, is an additional treatment is necessary.

In recent years, downsizing has become more popular. Most patients complain of reduced demand for functional or aesthetic reasons, and lips tight causing pain during exercise, during intercourse or prolonged sitting.

X-ray of facial bone or scanner will be useful in treatment planning and to discover other injuries.

Because the nose has many small blood vessels, persons who have suffered trauma to the nose and face May bleed profusely.Bleeding can be controlled by a gentle suction cleaning and removal of clots, application of a topical vasoconstrictor, packing gauze Merocel, and inserting Foley balloon.

Severe swelling of the nose and surrounding tissues can be reduced by applying ice or cold compresses. The individual may receive medications, including analgesics for pain relief, antibiotics and a decongestant to reduce nasal swelling....

I have a medium sized nose perhaps a bit bigger than average, and I want to know anyway without the surgery I can do my nose a bit smaller?
What is pushing up or will that over time make it smaller?

Nosa is composed of most cartliage. So we can reduce or increase your nose naturally. But really, I have a big nose and girls find me very cab. I have seen young girls with big noses and they were very beautiful.

Can they do a nose reduction surgery without being plastic surgery and is it safe?

I just want to reduce the width of the bridge over the nose and, possibly, soak my nose a little.

I have been thinking about getting a nose reduction for years. I would like to know about people's experiences who had a nose job-such as pain, healing, etc.

The first day is actually a little hard, because you were on anesthesia (your body is just weird after that) and because you got cottons in your nose. Also, after the surgery is when the beautiful bruises come in. But believe, the whole process gets better after 48 hours. Take medication and rest as much as possible, because that helps the scary bruises heal. If you really want it and thinks it will make a difference, go for it. Now, your nose will get its looks in about a month or so. The whole process however takes a year for your nose to heal (internally or should I say fully). Hope this helped.

I think the face forum has it priced more accurately at between $2500-$3700. Of course, It also depends on the market you live in. LA is probably a bit more than Des Moines, Iowa. Hope this helps!

Hi, I was looking at some pictures of people who had a nose job and I was wondering about how many milimeters does a surgeon usually reduce from a patients nose ? It seems very limited, like about 5 mm or less.
If so I'd think it would be pointless for someone to get it since it would be a very subtle diffrence ! Any rhinoplasty surgeons or patients out there ?!

it really depends on the doc - and of course the patient - docs are as different as snowflakes and some of them are flakes - do your research and ask around - there are a lot of resources available online for investigating docs - it is your body - you deserve the best - don't rush into getting it done - just remember Michael J. when you get anxious about having it done.

My nose has always been very large and I am very self conscious of it, i was bullied in high school because of it. I know that these people are shallow and so on but it has destroyed my self confidence. Would the NHS pay for it and if so how could I get them to do it?

it didnt use to be like that ... i picked it to much for to LONGlol

my mom says no i shouldnt cause she said her and her sis used to have a really big nose and they have pics to prove it ... they say they used to pinch it and its much smaller now
so what should i do? pinch it or get a nose job?

I'm 59 years old so you may just consider me an old man with nothing to loose but I'm here so I'll give you my two cents worth.

I have been under general anesthetic several times in my life. EVERY time it was for a medical reason. Surgery is not a game and it isn't fun. I would NEVER undergo elective surgery for vanity sake. Yeah, you got a nose, so do all the rest of us and most don't resort to rhinoplasty. There is always a risk with surgery and people I know have had plastic surgery botched. You may not be as happy with a new nose as you think you will be.

At this point all you can see is a "big" proboscis and you think a couple of cuts and you will have a cute little nose. Maybe so and maybe not. Do me one favor before you let someone cut on you, weight the down side with the same scale you weigh the upside. Then and only then should you make a decision.

BTW, I can't believe pinching your nose will make it smaller. It is mostly cartilage and if you squeeze the cartilage from a chicken you will see that you aren't going to get anywhere soon.

EDIT: One last thing, I have a big nose too and it keeps my mustache dry when it rains, not to mention my shoes and a good piece of sidewalk...

hi, i have been wanting to have a nose reduction for about 3years now...i have really looked into it, had a few consultations also...but i keep being told the same thing ' wait till your in your 20's, your face will change'...im 18 btw! But surely my apparence changes are over by now??

if I can comfortably pick my nose with my thumbnail should I get nose-hole reduction surgery?

I can pick my nose with my thumbnail and I have normal size nostrils. Your nose is very flexible.
I hope you don't mean reaching all the way up. That's unsafe no matter what size your nostrils are. Your mucous membranes are sensitive and you can cause nosebleeds and possibly damage the tissue.

And, yes, nose picking is gross, but so is walking around with a stubborn booger that flaps in and out every time you breath. Don't act like you haven't ever had to detatch one!

What are the advantages of a reduction in size of the nose and upper jaw in bulldogs as opposed to Wolves?

Bulldogs were trained to grasp and hold livestock with canine teeth of the lower jaw

Bull dogs were actually used for herding bovine thus biting and hanging on to Bulls and that's why their nose is reseeded back, so they could breath while hanging on. that's all I know, sorry.

I think you may need your parents consent , and, be very careful a lot of nose jobs go bad!! THINK!!! Is it really that bad?? I don't think so.

Plastic surgery of the nose (rhinoplasty) addresses several different problems with the nose, both functional (breathing problems) and aesthetic.

What you have done determines the cost of the surgery. Occasionally, an insurance company will pay for functional rhinoplasty surgery. Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not covered by insurance.

On my price list in my practice in Seattle, a 'fuctional rhinoplasty' costs about $7000 including anestheia and OR fees. A cosmetic rhinoplasty costs about the same, except your insurance company will not pay for it.

I have been watching High School Musical 1 and 2 recently *groans*. (I bought them for 'Andielep' Jnr's birthday she just turned 9 on Monday). Anyway 'Sharpay' seems to have much smaller nose in HSM 2.

I'm taking my little 'Chiquitita' to see HSM 3 later on.......*groans again*

She's a pretty girl anyway but the new one looks great. I think that is the one thing I'd do If I had the money.

How do cover up a scar on the tip the nose?

I recently had a nosejob trying to reduce the size of my nose. The quack screwed up. Big time. I now have a 1cm scar on the tip of my nose and a few other smaller ones. I look really ugly. I tried to use camoflage makeup (dermacolor,) but it is way too noticeable, especially on the tip of the nose. Scar reduction creams dont work. I just want my life back. Can anyone help...?!?!

I had an operation on my spine and the scar was 50cm long.
I was very self conscious about it and my GP prescribed me Veil Cover Cream and powder, it was arranged for me to go to a clinic where they matched the exact colour for my skin tone. It's specially designed for people with birth marks, burns and scarring, so it works really well.

If you are unable to find this then YSL concealer stick is brilliant, it covers and blends really well. What ever you do, always make sure you powder over your concealer at the end, this will help seal it and conceal for longer.

Moisturising your skin twice a day with a moisturiser, or better still, bio oil will increase the blood circulation to the area, increasing skin cell renewal, which in return will help the scar tissue heal and faid much quicker.

I am enlisted as a marine, but there are two problems - I have a big nose and bad vision. Glasses stick out really far and I failed the vision test. Will the military provide lasik surgery? Will the gas masks for the confidence chamber fit? Do i need nose reduction?

This will only be an issue during boot camp and you are not the first person to think they have too big of a nose and other things. They have tons of BCG's for you to try out that should take care of your issues. Once you are done with boot camp, go back to medical, get a new eye exam and go back to wearing whatever it is that you do now to see. Lasik is an option, but it is only offered under certain regulations and situations. Talk to the doctor in boot camp and then again when you get to your first real command to see if they can help you out with surgery. If they let you in the Marines in the first place you pasted whatever required tests they had and you should be fine, just crazy looking in the issued glasses for a few weeks. Good luck.
