An ENT does a lot more than just cosmetic surgery, but a lot can do basic reconstruction as well. It's just a matter of picking the right doctor for the right need. I wouldn't go to an ENT for cosmetic surgery, and I wouldn't go to a plastic surgeon to get my tonsils out.

I really would suggest going to Bangkok and having consultations with the doctors you're looking at. If that's financially possible for you, I would really suggest it. That's the only way you're going to be able to know if that doctor is the right one for you. Credentials and reviews can help, but there's nothing like a realy one on one meeting.

Depends on if you have insurance and it its a medical reason. If it looks really bad on you and you hate it, then go with plastic surgery. If not then just get it fixed.

It could make your nose look longer. I'm not sure what the surgeon would do really. If you asked to have the bump removed, he/she will remove it. If you ask to have your nose shortened, he/she will shorten it for you. You just have to talk to them.

Look through the yellow pages in the phone book and under physicians, there will be a list of cosmetic/plastic surgeons. My advice is to not necessarily go with the one with the biggest ad. Its important to look at credentials. Its worth a few hours of your life going to a few consultations and asking questions. Make sure you request to look at before and after pictures that the sugeon has on file. A good surgeon wont make promises. When I got my plastic surgery, what sealed the deal was his credentials, honesty, and ability to answer my questions.
Should I go to a plastic surgeon to have a skin cancer removed from my nose?
I have a basil cell carcinoma on the outside of my nose just outside the nostril. There isn't much tissue there so I'm thinking instead of using a dermatologist first I might be glad I checked first with a plastic surgeon.
if you can afford it or have insurance that will cover i say go for it. even just for a consultation s/he may say there won't be a problem or they may suggest that they do it to protect the shape of the nose.

Instead of telling him exactly what you want, I would bring in a picture of what you want. Either look at your favorite celebrities, or look at others who have had rhinoplasty. A picture will help ensure that the doctor and you are on the exact same page.
I do not think that your request is anything out of the ordinary, and that the plastic surgeon will be happy for your business.

A rhinoplasty surgeon does not beat other medical professionals by a "nose"; he "blows" them out of the water. If I were to "pick" a surgical profession, it would be related to the "schnoze". That career is nothing to "sneeze" about.
